Step 2: Introduction

The facilitator tells the participants about the objective of the training and sets up ground rules, then introduces the mindfulness trainer.  

An example introduction

The objective of this training is to invite you to practice radical compassion for yourself and others through a meditative, mindfulness method. 

I would like to set two ground rules to nurture an open-minded environment for all.   

  1. Keep your attention to yourself. We might be here with a group, but this training is for you. Turn inward and allow yourself to be in the moment. 
  2. The facilitator will respond to unproductive and disrespectful behavior or comments.
