Step 1: Listen to the Gong

Listen to the gong once as pure sound fading. The second time visualize your image, story or event fading with the sound.

  • Sit quietly and observe the room.
  • Study each detail. Pay attention to any changes in your breathing; notice any changes in your attention.
  • Close your eyes and examine your experience.
  • As the gong rings once, examine your reaction to the sound and its effect. Allow the sound to resonate until it completely fades and is gone.
  • Examine how you orient to the sound. What happens inside you body?
  • Can you follow the sound fading? What changes can you detect in your breathing?
  • When you open your eyes, what happens to your focus and concentration?
  • Ring a gong a second time. Now imagine your story (your activation) melts with the fading of the sound.
  • Connect with the sound and your breath at the same time. Repeat two to three times.
